Aubrey Joachim FCMA; CGMA; MBA: GAICD
Aubrey is an Australian Based Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants UK, a Chartered Global Management Accountant, an MBA from the University of Western Sydney Australia and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
He has over 3 decades of corporate experience with the Anglo-Dutch Conglomerate – Unilever, the US Oil & Gas multi-national McDermott International Inc and one of Australia’s largest public sector utilities Sydney Water Corporation – the largest Water and Wastewater utility in the southern hemisphere. His senior level finance experience cut across Asia, the Middle East Gulf, UK and Australia. His corporate finance experience covers the breadth of financial accounting and management accounting with specialisation in strategic management accounting. His experience also covers project accounting for large infrastructure projects as well as strategic asset management.
In 2005 Aubrey set up his own Consultancy – Leading Edge Change, providing training development, coaching and mentoring services. He has developed and conducted training workshops across more than 40 locations worldwide to finance and non-finance professionals in the areas of strategy, performance management, strategic management accounting, activity based costing, risk management, strategic asset management, finance transformation, finance business partnering and now focuses on areas related to big data, analytics and AI. He also covers soft skills training such as presentation skills for professionals.
Aubrey provided CPD training for CPA Australia and the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand for over 10 years. He also ran training programs in the UK for Kaplan and for CIMA in various global locations. He delivered director training workshops in finance, strategy and risk for the Australian Institute of Company Directors for 10 years. He has also delivered a number of popular webinars for AICPA over the years. He has conducted customised in-house training courses and delivered inspirational presentations for global corporations. He was a regular in-demand conference presenter and also has several CIMA podcasts to his name. He has authored management accounting articles for professional journals and had his own management accounting column in the Australian Charter Magazine for 3 years.
Aubrey reached the pinnacle of his profession when he was elected the Global President of CIMA in 2009. He is a winner of the CIMA global management accounting award and a winner of the Benson & Hedges Management Challenge in the Middle East.
