Burnout Is a Business Problem: Retention, Leadership, and the Future of Accounting

Burnout is no longer just a personal well-being issue. It is shaping who stays in accounting, who is willing to lead, how much capacity firms really have, and whether the next generation sees a future in the profession. This session examines burnout through a broader business and profession-wide lens. Participants explore how individual behaviors, leadership decisions, workload norms, and firm culture reinforce one another, and why meaningful prevention requires both top-down and bottom-up change. The session gives professionals at every level a clearer view of what they can influence and how everyday decisions about workload, communication, boundaries, and leadership can contribute to a healthier and more sustainable profession.

For live/in-person events, this course is available for up to 1.0 CPE credits.
