Wassia Kamon, CPA, CMA, MBA, is a corporate finance executive with over 15 years of experience spanning corporate accounting and financial planning & analysis (FP&A) across the manufacturing, technology, pharmaceutical, and nonprofit sectors. Her journey from intern to now VP of Finance and Controller at a leading Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) has fueled her commitment to enhancing leadership transitions in finance, a domain often overlooked by traditional accounting and finance credentials. To address this, she founded Beyond Certifications Advisory, where she creates learning solutions that effectively bridge traditional qualifications with the real-world challenges finance leaders face.
Recognized twice as a 40 Under 40 honoree by CPA Practice Advisor, Wassia is also a keynote speaker and a leading FP&A and accounting content creator on LinkedIn. Her insights on professional development and leadership have been featured in major publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Accounting Today, and Strategic Finance Magazine.
Wassia actively contributes to the profession as a member of the AICPA Women’s Initiatives Executive Committee and the Future of Finance Leadership Advisory Group. She also serves as a board member and treasurer for HOPE, Inc., a nonprofit organization that assists low-income single parents in pursuing higher education.
