With over 20 years of experience in the audit and attest field, Tricia Griffis Reaver, CPA, is the Director of Internal Audit for Frederick County Government, which includes an internal audit role for not only the Government entity, but also Frederick County Public Schools and Frederick Community College.
Tricia works with each entity annually to formulate a fluid risk assessment, administer hotline issues and manage all internal audits throughout the three entities. Prior to her experience with Frederick County, Tricia was a Senior Manager with national firm CohnReznick for 13 years with expertise in the fields of state and local government, non-profits, affordable housing, real estate, development, and construction. Tricia currently works part time during busy season assisting CohnReznick in a review function. She prides herself in leadership and learning within the profession which has brought her to teaching for the MACPA and the Business Learning Institute. She feels there is no greater value than developing others in their careers. This is why Tricia was a founding member of the MACPA mentoring program and has served as a MACPA mentor for 3 years. Tricia has been a nominee in both 2016 and 2017 for the MACPA Women to Watch awards and is a proud member of the MACPA diversity and inclusion program. Tricia began looking into diversity and inclusion at her time with CohnReznick and leading up their WomenCan program. In 2012 Tricia was recognized by Baltimore SmartCEO magazine as one of Baltimore’s top accountants. In addition to her volunteer efforts with the MACPA, Tricia also serves as a board member to the Mental Health Association of Frederick County and leads as co-chair to their annual black tie gala the, “Catoctin Affair.” Tricia also leads education efforts on behalf of the Maryland Government Finance Officers Association.
