The roots of Mike’s expertise reach back over 30 years as a Senior Manager at KPMG, first as an auditor and later in the professional development department at the firm’s National Office. Mike parlayed that experience into two decades as a business and audit methodology consultant and the author of ten books on auditing and accounting, including a best seller on the implementation of Sarbanes Oxley.
When the Auditing Standards Board redefined the risk-based audit, they chose Mike to be the primary author of its authoritative guide. As an expert on the subject, Mike worked with firms to revise their audit practices and train their staffs, and led a team of auditors in developing a cloud-based audit methodology that earned Accounting Today’s Top New Product award for 2010. That same year, Mike became director of CPE and training at the AICPA, where he revitalized that business unit and donned his visionary hat to shift its focus to a delivery platform we all take for granted today: online learning.
