Managing wellbeing in women is important for several reasons, and it aligns with principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace. It’s crucial for a manager to be able to manage the wellbeing of women specifically to ensure fairness and equity, drive retention and productivity, support a health and work-life balance, be aware of the legal and ethical considerations, promote a positive culture and focus on engagement and satisfaction in role. Wellbeing in women is something being talked about A LOT at the minute (rightly so!), particularly when it comes to our workplaces. How we maintain a good mental health around challenges specific to women, is crucial to our ability to perform on a daily basis. A manager’s awareness of life events like menopause and returning to work after having children is vital for promoting a workplace culture that values and supports its employees throughout various stages of their lives. It not only contributes to individual wellbeing but also positively impacts organisational success through increased retention, productivity, and a more inclusive work environment. In this informative, discussion-based session, we’ll explore some of the challenges women face in the workplace, as well as dispelling myths and raising awareness to wellbeing issues, specifically around menopause and maternity.
