Happiness and the Pursuit of Ethics; Does Good Behavior Makes Us Happy – and Vice Versa

This course adds an interesting twist to the ancient question: “Why lead an ethical life?” Philosophers and psychologists have long argued that ethical behavior contributes to personal happiness…but what about the other way around? Are happy people more ethical — and unhappy people less? The concept raises powerful questions about leadership, education, human resources policies, and incentive compensation — just to name a few issues. From a practical standpoint, if we understand happiness and motivation better, can we create a more ethical workplace? This course is taught by Greg Conderacci, a BLI Senior Fellow, marketing consultant, and adjunct faculty member at the Johns Hopkins schools of public health and business. A former Wall Street Journal staff reporter whose background includes a decade of working for the church and a stint as chief marketing officer for an investment bank, he brings a unique perspective to this course,
