Financial Literacy-College Student Athletes

If you are questioning your knowledge of financial terms or you want to know strategies for managing your money and expenses this one hour credit course on Financial Literacy for College Student Athletes is for you. In addition to basic financial knowledge you will take away how to participate in NIL sponsorships and properly manage the revenue and expenses associate with your NIL success.

THIS COURSE IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR CPE CREDIT.


Learning Objectives

After completing this course you will have a better understanding of the following:

  • Recognize Financial Basics: Gain a comprehensive understanding of key financial concepts, including budgeting, saving, investing, and debt management.
  • Explore NIL Opportunities: Learn about the evolving landscape of NIL rights and opportunities for college athletes, including the legal framework, rights management, and potential revenue streams.
  • Evaluate NIL Sponsors: Develop the skills to critically analyze NIL Sponsors, including assessing compensation structures, licensing, and endorsement agreements.
  • Financial Planning: Create personalized financial plans tailored to individual career trajectories and long-term goals, considering factors such as sport longevity, earning potential, cash flow management, and post-athletic career prospects.
