FAME defines the competencies, capabilities, and technologies across five dimensions (Technical, Business, Digital, People, and Leadership) that finance leaders need to address to move their functions from being scorekeepers and business partners to being value creators and ultimately finance futurists.
Today, many AICPA-CIMA members likely identify themselves along the FAME spectrum as Scorekeepers, Advisors, or Business Partners. But our members know that finance must change or risk becoming irrelevant in the face of relentless automation. Our work to develop FAME reflects the end stage that CFOs and their teams should strive to reach: the Finance Futurist, who delivers higher levels of customer experience, predictive insights, and easy access to data and reporting, along with a strong culture of risk management and business acumen.
