Ethics and Professional Responsibilities for Tax Professionals

Tax professionals need to ensure that their clients meet all compliance requirements and avoid penalties. In this course, we will review the most common tax penalties that individuals can incur and the confidence taxpayers must have in their reporting decisions to avoid compliance penalties. Tax-preparer penalties are also discussed. We also review the ethical and professional responsibilities for tax professionals that are provided in Circular 230 and the AICPA’s Statements on Standards for Tax Services.
