Thomas Selling, Ph.D.

Thomas Selling has produced and led over 150 executive and professional courses on finance, U.S. accounting standards, international accounting standards and the SEC in sixteen countries. He frequently serves as an expert witness and consultant on accounting matters. Since 2007 he has authored hundreds of essays for the Accounting Onion (www.accountingonion.com), one of the most popular weblogs providing investor-oriented commentary on current financial reporting issues.
Tom has published numerous articles in academic and professional journals, including The Accounting Review, Accounting Horizons, Financial Analysts’ Journal and the CPA Journal. He is a co-author of a textbook on international financial reporting and analysis, and authored for ten years a monthly reference service on SEC financial reporting.
Tom is a former SEC Academic Fellow and has served on the following committees: Standing Advisory Group of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board;  AICPA’ Financial Accounting and Reporting Subcommittee for the CPA Examination; and the advisory board of the Association of Audit Committee Members.
