Denise Borgoyn

Denise D. Borgoyn, has over 35 years of experience in the health and human services fields. “Dee’s” career has spanned high-level human resources management and leadership in government, not-for-profit and Fortune 500 companies. She is a speaker and consultant in leadership development, diversity and inclusion, and workforce strategies. Currently she is helping health care businesses increase their employee engagement and patient satisfaction, as well as improve the patient experience, by teaching them about people-centered care.

She is committed to people and facing challenges, and has been a pioneer all her life in advocating for people, and creating solutions; active in the creation and passing of the Americans With Disabilities Act, founder of Nevada’s “Jobs for the Handicapped”, serving returning veterans after the Vietnam War, has being a Wounded Warrior mentor, coaching disabled children and adults, pushing for cancer research as the mother of a childhood cancer survivor, and now, championing the study and practice of compassion in healthcare.

Dee holds a B.S. in Special Education with a Psychology minor from the University of Nevada, Reno. She is a member of the Washington D.C. chapter of the National Speakers Association, a Senior Certified Professional in Human Resources (SHRM-SCP), a licensed Nursing Home Administrator in the Commonwealth of Virginia, a past state President and Regional Representative for The American Society for HealthCare Human Resources Administration (American Hospital Association). She was named “Outstanding Young Woman” by the Nevada attorney general.

Dee is the author of the book, “28 Ways of Compassion: A Guide to Transformation and Leadership for a Relationship-Centric Healthcare Culture.”
